Last night on Conan Williamsburg's resident weirdo/pianist/comedian/rapper/DJ Reggie Watts previewed his forthcoming album Scarves & Cabbages
with a performance of his new country ballad "I Once Knew A Horse". Um, wtf? Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and Travis Stever of Coheed and Cambria came together - UM, wtf? - to provide the beautifully plucky accompaniment to Watt's rustic croon - UM, WTF?! If Watts in a Bolo tie and a ponytail isn't weird enough for you, please refer to last year's duet "Taxidermy Love"
with Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age.
Not much is known about Watt's forthcoming Scarves & Cabbages
, but if history shows us anything it's that we can probably count on more of the strange, and probably a few more odd-ball guest appearances.
