Beginning on Saturday, June 3, fans of the massively influential electronic artist Aphex Twin
(AKA Richard David James) were bewildered by a countdown clock on his website. Of course, there were no exact details as to what this clock was counting down to, so everyone could only speculate. Well, yesterday, when the clock hit zero, the musician tweeted out "Open. Come in…" with a link to his updated website.
When fans clicked on the link, they got a welcome surprise: Aphex Twin has created a massive new streaming service, through which fans can have access to expanded editions of classic albums, rarities, and unreleased material never before available to purchase or stream (these tracks are marked by a bright blue "New" tag). Also, one of the more interesting projects available on the site is the Rushup Edge
EP by The Tuss, an artist everyone believed to be James, though this was never confirmed.
If you've been following Aphex Twin over the years, you'll definitely want to check this service out. Visit the site here
