Ear Studios in Austin, Texas got smooth and soulful recently, as HONNE
met up with us for an exclusive, stripped down session. Armed with just a keyboard and drum machine, the electro-soul duo from London played a few of their tracks that are blowing up the Internet right now, including a couple from their upcoming debut record, Warm On A Cold Night
. In between songs, the two talked to us about how they met, how their various songs came to being, and all the crazy things that come with life on the road.
HONNE's songs are already pretty honed in (pun slightly intended) on a sweet cross between pop and electronic music and vintage 70s soul and blues, but hearing their songs in a bare-bones setting showed the tunes in a different light and really showed off the pair's lyricism and arrangement skills. "3AM" and "Warm On A Cold Night" are tender soul jams driven by singer Andy's affectionate vocals, and their recent bouncy summer-ready single "Gone Are the Days" is transformed into a sultry piano ballad that will melt the hearts of listeners everywhere. You can hear the love Andy and producer James put into these songs, and you can't help but fall in love with these songs yourself. Warm On A Cold Night is out on July 22
