It's hard to believe how far Baeble's Bands And Brews shows have come. Whereas we used to record these sessions in a smaller, more intimate setting, they now take place on our beautiful outdoor stage at Industry City, where our featured bands can rock out in all their glory while they bask in the summer sun. This afternoon, we'll be hosting another Bands And Brews session, which you'll be able to witness on said stage. Hosting these events is one of our favorite traditions here at Baeble, and we think it's a great way for us to introduce you to bands that deserve your attention.

So, for today's Throwback Thursday, we're revisiting a classic B + B session, performed by one of our favorite indie folk bands, in order to get you excited for today's event. That band is the London-based Bear's Den, who played this fantastic, stripped-back session for us. This is a great performance for both new listeners and loyal fans alike, because the setlist features some of Bear's Den's most beloved hits. The band played well-known, and equally well-loved, tracks like "Agape," "Elysium," and "Above the Clouds of Pompeii." "Pompeii" is particularly stunning. The effect of those bright guitars mixed with the faint trumpet playing in the background make this whole song sound as if awash in sunshine.

If this is your first time listening to Bear's Den, then you'll surely fall in love with these soothing songs that are as melodically memorable as they are harmonically brilliant. And, if you pay attention to the lyrics, you'll hear a confessional group of songwriters laying their emotions bare with every word. It's one of the most calming, and equally big-hearted, performances we've ever recorded.
