Two and a half years ago, Drowners released a self-titled record that seemed to capture everything that a New York City, garage rock band should sound like; the street smart hooks, the jangly rhythms, the fuzzed out vox. Drowners sound like our city, and that of course, is a massive compliment. Last month, the elusive group came out hiding with the release of their sophomore album, On Desire...a record that's been spinning over and over here at Baeble HQ.

Handsome Ghost are another NYC product, albeit a very new (and very exciting) one. The brainchild of Tim Noyes, Handsome Ghost make music that's rooted in many different musical traditions. Folk, R+B, EDM, Indie Pop; Noyes borrows elements from a wide range of genres and creates music that's meant for the summer, churning millions of plays in all the places you want to be churning millions of plays in.

On Thursday August 11th, both bands will be bringing their irresistible tunes down to Industry City in beautiful Sunset Park Brooklyn for Baeble's third Bands + Brews Session of the Summer. Have you made it down here yet? Not sure what you're waiting for, if you haven't. Look at this place:

Industry City is easily one of the coolest, most unique spots in the city to catch a show. Expect the kind of perfect summer night you'll be dreaming about when the thermometer freezes over later this winter (winter's coming, I guess. Might as well enjoy the summer while it's here!).

The festivities go down from 7PM to 10PM at 619 2nd Ave. Brooklyn NY 11232 in Courtyard 3/4 (near Design Within Reach). Come early and enjoy specials on Blue Point Brewing Company's Summer Brews.

Oh, and did we mention that these sessions are FREE and easy to get to? Industry City is located in the heart of Sunset Park Brooklyn, conveniently located off the N and D Express Trains at the 36th Street stop, 25 minutes from Union Square in Manhattan, 1 stop from Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn.
