Honeyhoney have had this whole country noir thing down for a while now. Pretty sure we first fell for the duo's brand of sultry Americana after witnessing this wicked dose of black comedy. With the band showing off a new bit of studio work, we're thinking such ominous undertones might be finding their way into the musical aesthetic as well. Recorded at a Nashville joint called The Family Wash, Suzanne Santo and Ben Jaffe rework "Little Toy Gun", from their debut First Rodeo. It's the first we've heard from the band since relocating from LA to Music City USA, but suggests the new surroundings may be paying off. The song is a moody string-ladened piece of country, sneaky at first but ultimately galloping off into the sunset. No word on whether the band has something new coming, but they just announced a slew of dates with UK wunderkind, Jake Bugg, whom they previously opened up for in this video.
