Jack White's "Freedom At 21" has all the tell-tale signs of a glitzy rock 'n roll music video: a hot lady-cop, an expensive car, and a moody rock star. White, looking like he just popped out of a Tim Burton movie, mopes attractively in the dramatically lit world. (A black and white one, save for the occasional dramatic pops of color: a neon green car, Jack's lady friend, red cop sirens.)
You don't have to be a film major to appreciate how dazzling good the editing is. The concept's not wildly creative -- but the execution is damn near perfect. It's short, but definitely not sweet, so take the two-and-a-half minutes to check in on during Jack White and his self-indulgent rock-out sesh.
