MP3: Chairlift

The last splash Chairlift made was in 2008 with the release of their debut LP Does You Inspire You, back when the NYC group was still a trio. But Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly have made their first sound since becoming a duo. The result is a streaming track titled "Amanaemonesia", which will be officially released as the A-side of a limited edition 7" on August 15.
Polachek's lovely voice, which is just smooth as it was 3 years ago, irons out Wimberly's keyboard and bass for a sound raveled in funky warmth, a flagrant indicator that Chairlift is picking up exactly where they last stopped off: tripping on sound. Not to mention, they've used one of the cooler embed players we've seen in a while. Check out the song below, and then scroll down for an album teaser.

The ominous video below seems to be indicative of a possible 8-track album in the near future. Let's hope the name of the label above isn't some sort of twisted foreshadowing.
