Paolo Sorrentino's new film This Must Be The Place follows aging goth rock star Cheyenne, played by Sean Penn, on his journey to discover more about himself and his father in this quirky Holocaust dramedy. When he's called home after 30 years because of his father's death, Cheyenne learns of his father's past in Auschwitz and seeks to avenge his persecution by an ex-Nazi.
Seems a bit odd? Yeah, critics from the Cannes Film Festival thought so too. I would beg to disagree though since Sean Penn hasn't made a bad movie since... ever. Aside from that, the soundtrack is sure to be amazing with lyrics penned by Will Oldham and music by David Byrne (who also provides a cameo performance). Byrne's involvement in the film just makes the closing line about Arcade Fire all the more hilarious. Check out the trailer below for your own (and probably only) look at the film, which opens in France on August 24th. For now, the film has no future US release.
