If you haven't listened to Feist
's new album Pleasure
, yet (well… firstly: what the hell, man?! Get on that!), then you especially need to watch this new video for her song "Century." If this doesn't convince you to give that record a listen, then I don't know what will. Fellow Feist fans already know that "Century" was one of Pleasure's
highlights, but this new video is enough to create new fans of the song, and make current fans fall in love with it all over again.
To give you a brief overview of the video (and oh my god, this is going to be so weird to type): it begins with Feist wearing a bathrobe (kimono?) as she walks into frame beneath an overpass. Suddenly, her lookalike shows up, also wearing a bathrobe (...or is it a kimono?). The two engage in a dance off to the thunderous beat of "Century," and before long they're each joined by their own respective dance troupes. An epically choreographed dance battle ensues, eventually culminating in the two Feists strangling each other. Then there's an extreme close up of Jarvis Cocker's face, and before you know it the whole thing ends in the cosmos.
Check the video out for yourself. Needless to say, it's a trip.
