Brooklyn-based indie rock four-piece Active Bird Community
have got your back if you're looking for emotional yet upbeat, straight-forward rock music similar to Kings of Leon or The Strokes.
Vocalist/guitarist Tom D'Agustino sings with a complete rawness in his voice and writes honest lyrics blended with strong, soaring guitars. The combination will make you feel nostalgic for those basement shows you attended as a kid in your hometown, creating an energy reminiscent of the times you hung out with your childhood friends as you slowly eased your way into adulthood. Along with the other members, lead guitarist Andrew Wolfson, drummer Carter McNeil, and bassist Zach Slater, the band overall has a sound that will drive you wild with curiosity about how it all sounds live.
They've recently released a split EP, Narp Split,
in collaboration with Primate House, which gives a sneak peak into what's to come on their upcoming full-length coming this fall. They also have an upcoming show at Bowery Electric in New York on 7/23, you can purchase tickets HERE
