Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange, added his own rework to the growing number of takes on "Chandelier", the electropop ballad hit off of 1000 Forms of Fear, the most recent album from reclusive Australian singer Sia following her four year hiatus. The single has seen remixes by producers Four Tet and Plastic Plates.
The rework features both Hynes and Sia in tandem, in a smoky, mournful slow dance that strips the song out of its grandiose, soaring synthesizers in favor of hazier, subaquatic tones — a perfectly minimal backdrop for the contrast between Hynes' crooning and Sia's titanic exhalations.
