Well if that morning cup of coffee didn't wake you up, this will surely do the trick. In support of their stellar 2010 release Forgiveness Rock Record , Broken Social Scene has released the disturbing new music video for their song "Sweetest Kill", which was directed by Claire Edmonson and stars actress Bijou Phillips.

Much like the song, the video starts off nice and sweet, as a couple is shown relaxing together in their intimate quarters. But when Phillips' character decides to poison the drink of her perceived lover, a violent turn is taken as she proceeds to chop off his limbs with various axes and cleavers. The gruesome video carries on with shots of bones and flesh fracturing apart, reminding us of something we'd see in a scene out of Dexter, but much more horrific. At your own risk, you can watch the video for "Sweetest Kill" now below.

In other, much more tolerable news, Broken Social Scene will be going on tour with TV On The Radio for a two-week run of U.S. cities in September. Check out those dates, as well as their already scheduled dates below.
