Some people are tragically stuck in the past, like the moms who think the Black Eyed Peas are so hot right now (Hansel voice from Zoolander). Jonathan Visger, musically known as Absofacto
, is not one of those people. Absofacto is the future.
The Michigan-based pop musician, formerly a member of Mason Proper, recently stopped by Baeble to jam and tell us a little bit about what goes on inside his innovative mind. What we found…Absofacto doesn't care about being cool. Something we all wish we could say. "I'm not interested in doing something that's just cool and just stylistically feels cool, like fashion…it has to mean something, it's about trying to find magic", he explained. Well after performing three songs in our session…the magic was definitely found, and it filled the room. And we can confirm that Absofacto reeks cool without even trying.
Lyrically and sonically, there are endless levels to Absofacto's songs and projects. His EP titled Thousand Pieces is reflective of his own personal conflicts, but also greater conflicts happening around the world. At the very core of his music lies that indescribable feeling or emotion that makes music special…we would describe it if we could. In the session, Abso brought his space pop beats and soothing voice, but was also accompanied by a drummer, guitarist, and bassist. The first song, "Done With Love" was a beautiful game of vocal volleyball, as Absofacto went back and forth with Katie, his bassist. After the duet, Abso continued with "Dissolve", a track that made a lot of internet noise. He concluded the session with "Light Outside".
As pop continues to move forward, so does Absofacto. He's down with the futuristic weird pop music and so are we. So, if you're a little stuck in the past and need some new sounds in your life, check out our Baeble NEXT Session with Absofacto.
