I've been really into raw garage rock lately. You know, Nirvana-inspired 90s grunge, Fender Jaguars drenched in overdrive and vocals that are too busy fearlessly howling to be singing perfectly on key 100% of the time. A new song that dips its feet in this idea comes from Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning,
who just dropped his new track "Book It To Fresno," off of his solo album Home Wreaking.
Slightly less aggressive and more melodic but still filling up on fuzzy guitars and distant, distorted vocals, the song has a true psychedelic garage rock sensibility, edging toward fans of The Districts, Twin Peaks, or Ty Segall.
The rest of the album features Broken Social Scene members Sam Goldberg and Justin Peroff as well as Kings Of Leons Liam ONeil and is set to drop on August 12th.
