And you will know the American folk-duo, Indigo Girls
, by Trail of Dead's
cover of "Blood and Fire."
Indigo Girls have been recording songs since the late 1980s, and isn't the first place someone would consider searching for the ideal Trail of Dead cover song. But of course, this would be prior to knowledge that Trail of Dead's lead singer admits to using "Blood and Fire" as his way of training his voice. This means that in a very roundabout way, Indigo Girls taught Conrad Keely how to sing. Keely never quite captured the graininess of his mentors' sound, but him and the band do a pretty good job with this one. Check it out via The Onion AV Club's ongoing 'Under Cover' series.
