, arguably one of the world's biggest rock bands, is returning with more Brian Eno produced tracks. Although 2009's Viva La Vida
also boasted Eno as producer (a decidedly doughy affair, to say the least), the band's fifth studio album is shaping up to be pretty promising with the two latest tracks to leak onto the web being pretty substantially Coldplay-esque—that is, significantly less airbrushed than the bloated tunes on Viva
. Oldschool Coldplay fanboys get excited (but not too excited).
Check out "Major Minus", an uptempo footpumper with a neat acoustic riff at the core.
And "Moving To Mars", a pretty missive in the style of classic Parachutes
The pair appears on the Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
EP. Although we're not super fond of the title track, the other two cuts it worth the purchase. We'll see what else the band has up their Captain Crunch looking sleeves soon enough!
