Still not convinced? Here are 10 Hip-Hop covers from your favorite Alternative artists that prove when a song is enjoyable, it transcends through artists and genre.

    1. "No Diggity" - Chet Faker (Blackstreet feat. Dr. Dre and Queen Pen Cover)

Nick Murphy, formerly known as Chet Faker, took on this hip-hop classic back in 2012. Much like the original, it stands the test of time. Murphy's signature downtempo sound and sultry vocals create a jazzy and understated cover that's sure to vibe with you.

    2. "Same Drugs" - Misterwives (Chance The Rapper Cover)

With their cover of "Same Drugs" from Chance's Coloring Book, Misterwives stay true to the emotional rawness of the original, while showing off the skills of their vocalist. The end result is a hopeful and beaming cover of an already stellar track.

    3. "Can't Tell Me Nothing" - Francis and the Lights (Kanye West Cover)

Francis and the Lights takes Kanye's "Can't Tell Me Nothing" and does a complete 180. With subtle vocals and minimalist production, this cover highlights the lyrical content, proving the age old sentiment that rap is poetry.

    4. "What Would You Do" - Bastille (City High Cover)

Bastille takes this 1999 Hip-Hop hit about the struggles of raising a family in less than ideal situations and elevates it. While still keeping the integrity and importance of the subject matter, Bastille adds booming drums and echoey vocals, creating an emotionally charged stadium rock anthem.

    5. "Hold On, We're Going Home" - Arctic Monkeys (Drake Cover)

Is there anything Alex Turner can't sing? This Arctic Monkeys cover of the Drake classic is super fun, with a disco twist that's just infectious.

    6. "Amazing" - Portugal The Man (Kanye West Cover)

Portugal. The Man takes the Kanye inspiration to the next level, adding his signature auto-tuned vocals to their cover of his track "Amazing." The result is a creepy yet intriguing cover that's, well, amazing.

    7. "Take Care" - Florence and the Machine (Drake Cover)

As you might expect, Florence and the Machine's cover of this Drake and Rihanna collab is nothing short of spectacular. In this live version, her killer voice is at its most powerful, giving a new emotional depth to the track.

    8. "Ignition/Do You" - Phoebe Ryan (R. Kelly & Miguel Cover)

Phoebe Ryan isn't afraid of covers. This is evident in her mashup of R.Kelly's classic "Ignition" and Miguel's "Do You." With her dreamy and ethereal vocals, Phoebe Ryan makes these tracks feel like a breath of fresh air.

    9. "Paradis Perdus" - Christine and the Queens (Kanye West Cover)

With a title that translates to "Paradise Lost" and an opening verse in French, the electro-pop artist gives fans a surprise when she begins to sing the infectious chorus from "Heartless" by Kanye West about a minute in. Like everything Christine and the Queens does, the cover is innovative and special in its own right.

    10. "Passionfruit" - Paramore (Drake Cover)

Paramore continues to deliver blissful tunes, this time in the form of a Drake cover. It's a complete package fully equipped with dreamy ear-candy vocals, groovy instrumentals and an additional nod to another Drake favorite.

Bonus: "Bitches Ain't Shit" - Ben Folds (Dr. Dre featuring Jewell, Tha Dogg Pound and Snoop Dogg Cover)

In all honestly, this one is just plain funny. It's not on our list because it's hard to take seriously. Still, it's hilarious. The contrast between the vulgar lyrics and crooning vocals will leave you confused, uncomfortable and laughing hysterically.
