Surprise! Kanye is doing Kanye, but then again, what else would he be doing outside of his conjugal responsibilities? Instead of dropping a music video the old fashioned way, Mr. Kanye-snake-oil salesman-West, has decided to make a lucrative spectacle of himself by throwing a premiere event in LA for the Life of Pablo
track, "Famous." Once fans are through the door for a $25 ticket fee, they'll be free to spend more money on merchandise available exclusively at the event. Nothing like throwing your hard-earned cash at a wealthy, narcissistic, creative maniac, am I right?
Needless to say, this isn't the first time Kanye thought the sun shined out of his ass; He's projected visuals for "New Slave" at venues around the world, he appeared on Ellen for the premiere of "Bound 2", he screened Steven McQueen's short film for "All Day" at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and now, on June 24th, he'll be dropping (slangin') the music video for "Famous" at LA's, The Forum (which a max capacity of 17,500 people).
The Life of Pablo
track has already stirred up a controversy with the line in which he mentions his longtime frenemy, Taylor Swift, I feel like me and Taylor Swift might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous. While it's still unclear whether or not T-Swift gave her blessings to Kanye for the line, it still brought the track the attention that Kanye thrives off of harder than oxygen.
If you're feeling curious about the event and don't live in the LA area (or if you do but would rather spend your time and money elsewhere), it'll be live streamed on TIDAL for members and non-members starting at 4pm E.S.T on June 24th. Tickets are on-sale today via Ticketmaster.
