Although Explosions in the Sky have released six albums in the past ten years, it appears that until now they had yet to release a music video. Well, they are definitely up for the challenge. This prismatic Apple-esque screensaver of a music video is the perfect accompaniment to the otherworldly, deliriously enchanting music of Explosions in the Sky's "Last Known Surroundings." The track comes from the band's album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, released this past April. The video is a euphoric amalgamation of digitally enhanced three dimensional prisms, desert landscapes, glowing lights, outer space illuminations, and watercolor scenic paintings. As we know from their past albums, Explosions in the Sky never stop halfway with their compilations, and this mixed media video explores all aesthetic possibilities and beyond. The bands dreamy instrumentals supports the vibrantly psychedelic imagery in a way that brings to mind Terrence Malick's overly symbolic new film, "Tree of Life", only here the vividly picturesque video is enticing and corresponds to the artistic message of band's style.
