With an impossibly classic seventies, garage punk sound, it's hard to believe that The Mystery Lights aren't seasoned vets with a handful of greatest hits albums under their belts.
"Follow Me Home," a track off of their forthcoming self-titled album, is a disarming, all too rare new addition to the genre. With a simple, infectiously creeping, guitar riff, the track is remindful of Nirvana's deepest cuts, intensifying with Mike Brandon's gritty, vintage vocals. Since moving east from the small town of Salinas, California, the quintet positioned themselves to be leading forces in the reemerging New York City punk scene.
