You know when you hear a song for the first time and within 10 seconds you know that you're going to be playing it on repeat? "Lovesick In A Hotel Wildfire" by Korey Dane is one of those songs. After the release of his breakout album Youngblood back in 2015, Korey Dane's latest self-produced project Chamber Girls was released at the beginning of the month. Since then, his effortlessly cool vibe has been booming through my headphones on a number of subway rides and sunny days.
While Chamber Girls is full of catchy and engaging tunes, "Lovesick In A Hotel Wildfire" is undeniably a standout. What makes the track so brilliant is the clever combination of foot-tapping instrumentals and bittersweet lyrics like, "Sometimes everything you want is just a wildfire...you're never supposed to make it out alive."
"Lovesick In A Hotel Wildfire" is reminiscent of those Summer nights that are full of laughter, heartbreak and perhaps the occasional bad decision. Korey Dane displays an admirable amount of honestly with the track, while still being incredibly relatable and vibrant.
