During HBO's airing of the 29th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony this weekend viewers were given their first glimpse of the network's upcoming series Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways
. Although the teaser (below) is a short one, we already knew most of the details of Dave Grohl's recently revealed project which will be a companion piece to the group's yet-to-be-titled Wasting Light
follow-up. The new album, which will be released this November on Roswell/RCA, will contain eight-tracks that coincide with the series' eight episodes. Although this will be Foo Fighters' shortest album, Grohl stated in an interview with THR
that he believes their forthcoming is their longest to date. Each track was recorded in its own city — Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashvill, New Orleans, New York, Seattle, and Washington DC — featuring their own local legends. As Grohl describes in the teaser below, "It's a musical map of America."
