There's a lot going on in Parade Of Lights
' new single 'Touch." Between the shining synths, springy bass line, and stuttering, falsetto backup vocals, it sounds like there are more than four musicians behind this upbeat jam. I wasn't familiar with Parade Of Lights before hearing this song, and my first reaction was that they would insanely fun to see live. My second reaction was that they remind me of The Naked And Famous only with more rock style vocals.
"Touch" is charismatic in its hook-packed chorus and its instrumentals that make you want to dance. Not the self-conscious variety of club dancing where the goal is to impress the sweaty crowd around you, but the superior brand of dancing reserved for outdoor concerts where you can close your eyes and wave your arms around without fear of judgment. According to their website, Parade Of Lights will be releasing more new music this summer, so stay tuned. Personally, I'm going to listen to this band's previous album because "Touch" energized my exhausted Monday. And it doesn't hurt that their lead guitarist/vocalist Ryan Daly is mad cute.
