Fresh off his performance at Bonnaroo and still riding the high from the massive success of Disclosure's "Latch," Sam Smith
returned to the Late Show with David Letterman to promote his debut album In the Lonely Hour
. Backed by about fifteen vocalists and instrumentalists, Smith belted out the lyrics to his latest single "Stay with Me," and though the singer stood simply behind his mic, Smith's wide eyes hiding under his thick eyebrows did all the work to convey the earnestness and sincerity of the song.
And of course, Smith left no doubts in the crowd that he is made of pure talent. The performance was all about his vocal chops, and when you have a voice like he does, that's all it really needs to be about. Watch below.
