We're beginning to see why Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros forthcoming third full-length album was self-titled. After hearing the record's first single, "Better Days" a few weeks back, we were made cognizant of the band's new found and inspirational spin on Doo-wop - a perfect sonic fit for the voices of Alex and Jade - and today with the release of the second single "This Life", we think July 23rd might unleash our favorite record of the summer.

"This Life" is unlike any Zeros tune we've heard to date. Alexander's voice rips into hoarse passion reminiscent of Joe Cocker that glides above an Orbison-like melody. It's soulful and sad; it's beautifully inspiring. We want more, but until then, "This Life" will remain on 'repeat' in our office.
