This weekend, Williamsburg and Greenpoint played host to the hyper-local music-portion of Northside Festival, four days of events in and around venues in both neighborhoods put on by the local rag L Magazine. We caught a couple of shows from bands both established and under-the-radar, in both established venues and DIY spaces (very much in the spirit of the fest). Check out some pictures below.

First off, a visit to the Jameson Lounge at Good Co. was a great way for (press peoples) to kick off their evening (every evening). While I was there, a rep lit one of the aging barrels on fire to demonstrate how they blacken the cask for aging.

We visited Muchmore's to check out a smaller band called Future of What. They were totally rad.

We caught These United States rockin' out at The Knitting Factory on Metropolitan, playing new tunes from their latest self-titled album. Might be the hardest working guys in the Americana game.

And finally, of Montreal and Jens Lekman played a stellar set at McCarren park, with all the usual Montreal costumed craziness.

    Until next year, Northside.
