Passenger's Return Might Be Brief If He Doesn't Find A Way Out Of That Burning Boat

Michael David Rosenberg - aka Passenger - has announced the release of his eighth album, Young As The Morning, Old As The Sea. The album will be available later this Fall (September 23rd), but he's offering up the record's first single on this perfect summer Friday. The track is called "Somebody's Love" and could be characterized as classic Passenger, windswept by syrupy sweeps of pedal steel guitar.

Rosenberg also released a lonely, introspective video for the song. In the visuals we find our man at the helm of a rowboat, hiking across vast landscapes, and generally gazing into the unique, otherworldly landscape only Iceland seems to offer. Who knows what's zipping through his mind...especially once his boat starts to catch fire. Hoping this doesn't turn into some Viking funeral...because Michael...you have a new album to promote! We want to hear more! But this will certainly do for now. Now get out of that boat please.

Way back when we invited Michael by our West Village Townhouse to perform a few songs from his debut album. I'm happy to report that these songs certainly still have it.
