Collab Of The Day: Metallica and Lou Reed

    Things that make sense together: peanut butter and jelly; Beyonce and Jay Z; being drunk and $1 pizza. Things that don't make sense together: Metallica and Lou Reed.

    And yet, it's happening. Metallica announced yesterday that they have finished recording a full-length album, about 10 songs long, with Lou Reed earlier this week. The LP has no set release date or title yet, but the band got the idea for the project after they played with Reed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 25th Anniversary Concert in 2009. Metallica is infamous for spending years on one record, but this one only took a few months with Reed recording in the band's home studio in San Francisco.

    Not sure what to expect from this collaboration, but hopefully it'll sound something like this (it will sound nothing like this):
