One studio, three days, 13 songs. Pretty impressive if you ask me. We're excited to be premiering OIM Records Vol. 1: a compilation of singles from local Bay Area rock and pop groups produced by Jeff Saltzman. All recorded using the same equipment and studio, OIM Records Vol. 1, is the cornerstone project of the studio, representing a mere sampling of the studios future productions. OIM Records is a creation of Oaktown Indie Mayhem founder Sarah Sexton, Oakland Drops Beats founder & musician Angelica Tavella, and producer & engineer Jeff Saltzman, with additional assistance from mixer Mikael Johnston of Class A Recording.
Tracks from the pop-rock quartet French Cassettes and the New York bound Waterstrider have already accumulated a significant amount of SoundCloud plays prior to the compilations June 23rd release. With cuts from the soft-spoken, melancholic solo artist Perhapsy and the ethereal grit of El Elle's "Whore," the mixtape offers an excellent selection of up-and-coming talent from the west coast. The compilation will be offered as a free digital download, along with a series of music videos to accompany a few songs on the album. Be sure to pick up a limited edition colored vinyl along which will be available for sale soon.
