Phantogram is back and better than ever folks. With their latest offering, "You Don't Get Me High Anymore" the duo focuses on the feeling of not being surprising by anything anymore. On their latest single the duo showcases their refined sound as they transition from being an indie band to a more alt-pop duo. Although the band's intentions for more pop appeal is evident, this is still the same weird as hell Phantogram that we all know and love. "You Don't Get Me High Anymore" uses various elements, like a punchy bassline that could find a home on a DJ Mustard track to distorted synths that feel more akin to Phantogram's Eyelid Movies phase. The drums on this track are bananas and will make for a purely energetic song to perform live. With lyrics such as, "used to take one now it takes four", it's obvious that Phantogram will be reaching deep with their new upcoming album.
"You Don't Get Me High Anymore" is the first single from Phantogram's upcoming album entitled Three. Instead of waiting for the album to drop, (it's been two years already, so I'm willing to wait a bit more), check out "You Don't Get Me High Anymore" above.
