Y'all up on Post Malone
yet? Of course you are. The Dallas-bred, golden grilled, dread-locked (white) rapper dropped his blissed-out anthem "White Iverson" back in 2015, and he's been on a roll ever since.
Still, Malone is a bit of a head-scratcher around here...I can't tell if this sh*t is for real or some kind of gimmick. Like, is he the second coming of Riff Raff x Drake's auto-tuned, sing-songy flow...or something? Am I supposed to think this dude is tough? Or is he just hip hop's most endearing goofball? Help me out guys...cause I'm lost.
Either way, there's something peculiar about this dude. His newest single "Go Flex" (embedded above) is rooted in acoustic elements...and apparently he's been telling people he's making the move out of hip hop into more rock/pop/country directions
. Which brings us to this video from 2013:
Uh, WTF. Apparently this Austin Post fellow (if that's his real name) can serve up one of the best Bob Dylan covers you'll ever stumble across. Consider me more confused than ever...but sincerely charmed by what appears to be hip hop's new resident folkie.
