Earlier today Kimbra released the tracklist for The Golden Echo, her forthcoming, sophomore LP. The album is set to release in August and if you pre-order the album you will get instant downloads of "Love In High Places," "90s Music," and "Nobody But You."

"Love In High Places" is a song that has a touch of funk and an airy appeal. "Nobody But You" is more of a R&B driven, earphone banger, with intense chords and pouring with reverb. The artist also unveiled a list of collaborators who will be featured on The Golden Echo, which includes John Legend, Bilal, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Dave Longstreth (Dirty Projectors) Matt Bellamy (Muse) and Mark Foster (Foster The People).

While fellow New Zealand native, Lorde, has changed the image of New Zealand artists by being minimalistic, Kimbra aims to show her ambitious and complex fusion of sounds. Will Kimbra's resurgence ride that young star's wave or go against the tide? So far it seems that she'll continue to ambitiously swim against the current.
