After a 13-year hiatus, the robot reboots, as Daft Punk half [Editor's Note: This makes it sound like Daft Punk is some final combination of a Transformers-esque fusion. I would be totally down for that anime.] Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo revives Le Knight Club, his two-man side project, with Pumpking Records founder Eric Chedveville. This past Thursday, a hip-hop inspired track titled "The Fight" was posted on Chedveville's Soundcloud. It's set to be featured in the sucker punching, bullet-frenzy Algerian film Gates of The Sun, costarring retired professional boxer and left field actor choice, Mike Tyson.
A change of pace from their 2002 club-inspired, foot-tapping single, "Soul Bells," "The Fight" is an atmospheric beat-based track that sounds reminiscent of the scrapped Tron: Legacy Soundtrack era track, "Computerized" featuring Jay-Z. Interestingly enough, the sample from "The Fight" may be taken from the 90s Irish sitcom, Father Ted.
If you're an avid Algerian action flick aficionado, Gates of The Sun was released this past March. In the mean time, check out "The Fight" on Soundcloud.
