MP3: Ice Choir

The 80s synthpop revival acts haven't been quite as omnipresent in 2012 as they were in 2010 and 2011. It's a mixed blessing because while I appreciate the chance for new genres to arise (2012 has been all about the slickpop), I find myself missing the synthesizers and danceable beats. Well, we can thank Ice Choir for bringing it back at least for a little bit. The side project of the Pain of Being Pure at Heart's Kurt Feldman, Ice Choir probably has more in common with the New Romantics than the New Wave but their new single "Teletrips" is pure 1980s fun. Their debut album, Afar, is out 7/31, and we're hoping the rest of the album sounds as good as this lead-off single.
