Perth singer Troye Sivan
released his third single, "Bloom," a couple of days ago and it's the perfect song to get you ready for summer because well, looks like spring never showed up. Following "My My My!" which was a gem of a song, this track doesn't disappoint as it's just as catchy and fun in true Sivan form. The track has a lyric video to go along with it, in which we see an animated version of the singer posing and floating around in what looks like a greenhouse in another dimension.
Even though the song speaks about flowers, others have soon realized that it's actually about bottoming. The openly gay singer had this to say about the song in a recent interview: "I wrote it with [songwriter] Leland and we were dying laughing and just having the best time writing it. Lyrically I think it's the most subversively queer song on the album. That's kind of what makes me like it so much — it's almost like a little inside joke."
Regardless of the songs meaning, its a fact that the kid knows how to create hits and this song is yet another great example. Looks like we are in for quite a treat when he finally releases his impending second album. Until then, we'll have this song on repeat.
