Oh Animal Collective
. You have to be one of the most divisive groups of the 2000s. For every fan who thinks you're the greatest thing to happen to pop music since the Beach Boys and can spend hours talking about the evolution between Feels
to Strawberry Jam
to Merriweather Post Pavillion
, you've got a hater (or three) who thinks you're boring, pretentious, or incomprehensible. Still, you've made even your most loyal fans wait what feels like an eternity for any new music to follow up your last record (and your most acclaimed/accessible), MPP
. Well, Avey Tare and Noah Lennox have finally answered our prayers for new AC tunes with "Honeycomb" and "Gotham," which are the same psychedelic freak-folk we've grown to love from this band, and we'll take it. If you aren't on the AC train at this point, they won't change your minds, but for fans, this will help hold us over 'til the next proper album.
