Never judge a band by its name, although the goofy moniker Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. is a good introduction to the band's quirky nature. You won't believe the amalgamation of tunes they've assembled for your brain today.

    1. "Morning Thought" - Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. - It's A Corporate World

[As an introduction to our mix tape curators, here is "Morning Thought" of their latest It's A Corporate World. The colorful, DIY aesthetic in this DEJJ is just a toe-dip into the following list of eccentricity.]

    2. "Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye" - Leonard Cohen - Live at the Isle of Wight 1970

This is the best version of this song, which is a masterpiece. It's a perfectly written apology.

    3. "I Am A Disco Dancer" - Bappi Lahiri - Disco Dancer Soundtrack

I put this song on when I feel like dancing and letting loose. The movie is a brilliant replica of American cinema, and the music is great.

    4. "Sugar" - Stevie Wonder - Signed, Sealed and Delivered

"Sugar" is one of Stevie's lesser played hits, but it's a feel good track. A few years back, I postulated a whole deductive explanation of why Stevie is proof that God exists. I forget it now.

    5. "We Are The World" - U.S.A. For Africa - We Are The World

We are the world, we are the children. We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let's start giving.

    6. "Never Gonna Let You Go" - Sergio Mendes - Sergio Mendes

As a child, this was my favorite song. It is a super emo tune, but really well done.

    7. "Aihe Ni Kpe We" - T.P. Orchestre Poly-Rythmo - The King of Benin Urban Groove

I really love all of this band's records, and am glad to hear they released a new one recently. Absolutely amazing feel.

    8. "Gone Flying" - Phil Manzanera - K-Scope

A friend gave me this record claiming that I sound like Phil. I'm not sold on that, but this song is funky and cheesily beautiful.

    9. "Strange Overtones" - Brian Eno and David Byrne - Everything That Happens Will Happen Today

It makes me relieved to see that two men so far along in their careers can still make such original and amazing music.

    10. "Odessa" - Caribou - Single

Infectious. I heard this song and couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks.

    11. "Badonkadonkey" - Born Ruffians - Red, Yellow & Blue

I have this song on my iPod for some reason and it's a go to. I love it. I should go buy the rest of the record.
