The 10 Best Music Videos of the Month

It may have breezed by quickly, but a lot went down in the music world throughout the month of May: Solange smacked up Jay Z, Dave Grohl announced an HBO show and new Foo Fighters LP, Dr. Dre became the first billionaire in hip-hop. But in addition to the plentiful supply of pop-culture "news", we were exposed to some pretty remarkable samples of music video artistry. From sexy puppets to a super hero in drag, We sorted through this month's lot of music video submissions to narrow down our 10 favorites...

    10. Eminem - "Headlights" (ft. Nate Ruess)

Everyone who grew up on the autobiographical MMLP felt Eminem's Spike Lee-directed, Mother's Day apology right in the hurts.

    9. Sharon Van Etten - "Every Time the Sun Comes Up"

Sharon Van Etten's beautifully bleak tune is matched with the story of a fading monster movie actor whose blood-sucking days have long since past.

    8. Har Mar Superstar - "Restless Leg"

Joaquin Phoenix fell in love with his computer, which may have helped Har Mar Superstar share his courageous story of Muppet lust.

    7. The Kooks - "Around Town"

Although it's a strange tale of a Bonnie and Clyde crime duo, it's beautifully shot, and the visuals magnify The Kooks' climactic tune.

    6. Timber Timbre - "Curtains"

Timber Timbre's treacherous tone partners perfectly with the threatening sense of peril in this classic film noir short.

    5. Mac DeMarco - "Passing Out Pieces"

Mac DeMarco's charm resides in his erratic behavior. That's why his nonsensical midnight movie for the serene Salad Days track "Passing Out Pieces" fit so well.

    4. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - "As Always"

It's always the nights you'd least expect that become your most memorable; and it's the songs you'd least expect that make for the perfect night-long bender soundtrack.

    3. Arcade Fire - "We Exist"

Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) gave Jared Leto a run for his money as a man dressed in drag in the latest Arcade Fire music video.

    2. Die Antwoord - "Pitbull Terrier"

    W.T.F.

    1. Sia - "Chandelier"

Although Sia is a slightly off-radar artist for Baeble — if you've seen it on Ellen you won't see it on the Baeb — this long-shot video featuring the 11-year-old Dance Moms star (my girlfriend told me so) is outstanding.
