Since the release of Heartworms a couple months back, The Shins have been running around promoting their latest work. Frontman, James Mercer, stopped by NYC's Spotify Studios to record of live, intimate cover of The Smith's 1986 classic, "Panic," along with an acoustic version of the Heartworms track, "Name For You."

James Mercer's cover of "Panic" is mellow and delicate - featuring only him and his acoustic guitar. It's a song that James Mercer has admired for quite some time so he puts a soft, touching spin on the decades old classic. Accompanying The Smith's cover is an stripped-back version of the bubbly 80s-esque hit "Name For You" from The Shins' latest album. The acoustic version shows some playful vocal range from Mercer, giving the track in a whole new light.
