Remember "Every Breath You Take?" [Ed. Note: Dear God. Am I so old now that The Police are considered an obscure band?] No one was more pleased than myself when I watched Sting show up for a rendition on David Letterman's final appearance on The Late Show. James Corden brilliantly squeezed his way into the song, much like he squeezed his way onto The Late Show. Perhaps this is James's greatest talent, and why we love him so much. Even as he pisses Sting off, obviously interrupting a classic, repeatedly, you can't help but appreciate his humor. If you can't make fun of yourself, well, life just isn't very fun. Not only is Corden funny, it turns out he has some pretty great vocals (I mean, he can harmonize with Sting). Still, in the Sting-Corden sing off, Sting gets the tip.
Sting also starred in a ragtime version of "Roxanne" on Jimmy Fallon to Sting and Fallon fans' delight. Not only was it exciting to hear "Roxanne" being performed by this swanky quartet, the harmony was fantastic, and all I can say about Sting's comedy stint is more, please.
[Ed. Note Take Deux: That video link looks broken but I promise it works. For whatever reason, Fallon apparently never gave it a thumbnail image.]
