Outside our West Village abode, it doesn't feel a bit like Memorial Day Weekend. It's grey, it's cold, it's drizzling, it's a little cruel to be honest. Inside it's a different story though. We're kicking off the sunny season anyway, thanks in part to two absolutely gorgeous slices of summer cool from NYC band, HAERTS. Like their producer/collaborator Philip Grobler (aka St. Lucia), the band are the result of the magnetic pull of the world's cultural capitol, boasting members from Germany, England, and the good ole USofA. Singer Nini Fabi is an alluring presence on the two tracks we've got for you below, wilting with a slight Nashville twang at times, only to completely double back around and soar to the heavens a moment later. For their part, her band mates roll dramatic musical breakers into those vocals, spraying "Wings" and "All The Days" with electro skirmishes, nostalgic 80s pop, and plenty of "band" mojo. It's undoubtedly summer music, even if the season is nowhere to be found this holiday weekend.
All The Days
HAERTS will release their debut full-length sometime in the near future. You'll also want to keep your eyes on our website as we premiere a beautiful full-length concert video from the band, captured during our time down in Austin this past spring. Below is a preview of what's to come.
