After writing lyrics to the House of Cards theme songs and Prius jingles, Father John Misty has finally released something a little more serious.
The song is called "Real Love Baby" and personally, it's my favorite FJM track yet. Sure, maybe it's because I've sucked his last albums dry and I've been craving new material, but this track specifically is so infectious. With soulful vocals and production that's a little off in the distance, this track takes us right back to the 70s. It's also catchy as hell.
I can also confirm that this sounds best if you listen to it in your car with the windows down, first thing in the morning, on a warm day in May.
