May starts off a little bit slow for late night television. Monday has an almost empty slate, though one that is heavy with falsetto, as the only musical guest of note that night would be James Blunt on Conan. Then on Tuesday, Craig Ferguson surprises us all with an exciting musical guest, OK Go, while Jimmy Fallon decides to take a different route with his clientele for the evening: Elmo.
Moving on, Tuesday and Thursday provide the most options, but with Thursday as probably the better of the two. That evening, Neon Trees will be performing on Letterman, Calexico on Kimmel, and Twin Shadow on Fallon. Friday wraps up with a couple of solid NBC options, following Thursday's first episode of The Office sans Michael Scott. It is a sad moment in NBC history, but at least the network completes the week with some exciting live tunes.
