Rage Against the Machine is taking a page out of the Radiohead playbook by launching a cryptic countdown site
to June 1st.
The website requires users to enter their email address, and shortly after an image appears reading, "Clear the way for the prophets of rage," a subtle nod to Public Enemy's song "Prophets of Rage" which originally appeared on their 1988 album, It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.
Mysterious posters have also been appearing around Los Angeles, while RATM introduces a hashtag inspired by their own lyrics, #TakeThePowerBack from a track off their 1992 self-titled album.
As the countdown to June 1st continues, we can assume that the bands will be unveiling other insanity inducing teasers, as of right now, we can only hope that this is only the beginning of a legendary collaboration and/or tour between Public Enemy and Rage Against the Machine.
