If you’re in tune with Baeble’s history, you know we’ve got ourselves a little fix. Nothing harmful, nothing unsavory…we just kind of dig Swedes. More specifically, it’s the continuing swell of brow raising talent that really nibbles away at us. I’m From Barcelona, Mando Diao, Shout Out Louds
: we’ve had ‘em all (on our site, that is). So when the names El Perro Del Mar, Lykke Li
, and Anna Ternheim
all lined up in quick succession of one another…on one night, no less…we knew we needed to be there. We also thought it’d be a good idea to bring our cameras along as well.
Riding a bright blue and gold blaze to the Bowery Ballroom
last Thursday, the three artists didn’t disappoint. First there was Anna – a solo songbird, pumping gushing sentiment and heaps of heart through her careful strums and classic piano ponderings. A more lovely girl, there is not. Next up Lykke Li, no doubt getting her first taste of what will most likely evolve into full on, North American hysteria over the next few months... Personality, charisma, charm; this here free spirit can’t be contained. Though why would anyone ever fathom such a thing? Finally, a swift and final transition to El Perro Del Mar – her porcelain voice and brand of nifty, retro pop winding the clock back just a bit. It all made for a rather fetching evening.
Keep an eye on Baeble as we roll out performances from all three artists over next few weeks.
