Ivan Howard of the Rosebuds put together a perfect tracklist for us this week, touching on a few of our new favorite obsessions (Other Lives, James Blake) while hitting a few old ones (The Tallest Man On Earth, The National,), all while including those left-field off-the-wall picks that make these curated mixes so refreshing (Chinese pop-rock, anyone?). Never a dull mixtape!

1. "Woods" - The Rosebuds - Loud Planes Fly Low
[The Rosebud's new album hits June 7th, and we thought you deserved a quick taste before we delve into the mix.
2. "Tamer Animals" - Other Lives - Tamer Animals
I guess this song isn't out till May of 2011, but when it comes out, you'll know what I'm talking about. I can't wait to hear this song on tour every night this summer
3. "King Night" - Salem - King Night
This record really hit me when I saw them perform the songs live. I'll probably be referencing what their bass sounded like from their show in Portland this year for the rest of my life.
4. "Daydream" - Beach Fossils - Beach Fossils
This songs makes me feel like I did when I wanted to first start a band. In love with the Homestead Record label and with the Wipers and Teenage Fanclub at the same time
5. "Sorrow" - The National - High Violet
I went through a stretch recently when I listened to High Violet everyday and I would always listen to this song two times in a row.
6. "Harlem" - Bill Withers - Just As I Am
I have a sort of religious experience every time I hear this song. The key changes are like climbing the ladder the heaven, except you know you're already there thirty seconds into the song. Watch the movie Still Bill
7. "The Wilhelm Scream" - James Blake - James Blake
Pretty sure this is the song I've sung along to more than any other. Might as well fall.
8. "Lovesick" - Lindstrom and Christabelle - Real Life Is No Cool
This song never gets old to me. I've listened to it 500 times and it's my running jam. I'm sure everyone wonders why I keep saying "Are you gonna be there? Are you sure you gonna call back when i'm calling up another?"
9. "How Majestic Is The Night" - P.K.14 - City Weather Sailing
When the Rosebuds toured China, this was a staple of MTV China. I couldn't believe a song this good would be part of popular culture in any country. It reminded me why I started a band in Wilminton, NC.
10. "Where Do My Bluebirds Fly" - The Tallest Man On Earth - Shallow Grave
I remember first really listening to this song on my daily bike ride on the greenway in Raleigh, NC. It's like he wrote that song from my bone marrow.
