Albert Hammond Jr's New Solo Material Is On The Right Track

This is probably the worst thing I could admit as a music writer, but I honestly couldn't give fewer s***s about the Strokes these days. "Reptilia" is fire, and I get why Is This It was such an important record back in the day, but...eh. I feel like there have been a dozen bands that have done the Strokes thing better than the Strokes ever did in the interim. But Albert Hammond Jr. has always been a great guitarist, and his new single "Born Slippy" is hot stuff. He has a solo record, Momentary Masters, coming out this summers, and if the rest of the record sounds like this, maybe I can get excited about a Strokes affiliated project again.
