has been at the center of numerous controversies over the past few years, from her performance with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards to her most recent, and odd, album Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz
which had many people asking, "who are you, and what have you done with the real Miley?" But not to worry, Miley is back and once again all is right in the world. After a little over a week of anticipation, Miley's new song "Malibu" premiered today accompanied by a video showcasing how carefree and in love she is at the moment. Miley keeps the use of overwhelming instruments to a minimum on this track and sticks with her acoustic roots, and this works so well for her because it's what she does best. The simplicity of the video production and the authenticity of her lyrics presents her in the most genuine light possible. Miley will be performing "Malibu" live for the first time at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards and has said that a lengthy album, which has not yet been named, is in store for later this year. It's good to have her back.
