Sometimes after listening to an artist for a while, we start to take their talents for granted; Mac Demarco
is a perfect example of this. With his sing-song voice and his use of the same instruments, each song starts to kind of sound like, well... Mac. It's easy to take just how excellent the song is for granted, but when another artist comes along and does a 360 on it and it STILL
sounds good, that's when you know it's good.
Actress/singer Amandla Stenberg
has just released a cover of Mac Demarco's "Let My Baby Stay" and jesus, who knew Demarco was capable of writing a song that could sound so good as a pop/R&B track? Stenberg's smooth vocals mixed with the airy and danceable production is addictive. You know it's a good song when it's transformed into something completely different and still sounds fantastic.
